Terms & Conditions

These Terms govern your use of NoorOn, a gamified learning app operated by [COMPANY NAME]. Please read them carefully. Where these Terms say "we" or "us", they mean [COMPANY NAME]; "you" means the person using NoorOn.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account or using NoorOn you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use NoorOn.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data. It is a separate document and not part of these Terms.

2. Who can use NoorOn

You must be at least [MINIMUM AGE] years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use NoorOn with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for your use of the service.

Only a person with full legal capacity, such as a parent or guardian, may purchase a paid subscription.

3. Your account

You can sign up with an email address and password, or with Google or Facebook where offered. You must give accurate information and keep it up to date.

Keep your password secret. You are responsible for activity on your account unless it happens without your fault. Tell us at [CONTACT EMAIL] straight away if you think someone else has accessed your account.

Your display name, avatar, XP and level are visible to other learners, for example on the leaderboard and in friends lists. Each account gets a personal invite code that you can share to add friends.

4. Free and paid plans

NoorOn offers a free plan with access to a selection of topics and lessons. Some content is only available with a paid plan ("Plus").

We may offer a one-time free trial of Plus. A free trial does not require payment details and ends automatically; it does not turn into a paid subscription by itself.

The plans, prices and included features on offer are shown on the upgrade screen before you buy. Prices include any VAT that applies unless stated otherwise.

5. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

Paid subscriptions are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. When you subscribe you are taken to a Stripe checkout page; we never see or store your full card details.

  • Billing: you pay the price shown at checkout in advance for each billing period (monthly or yearly).
  • Renewal: your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period for the same period and at the then-current price, unless you cancel before the renewal date. We will tell you about any price change in advance, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
  • Cancellation: you can cancel at any time in Settings → Subscription, which opens the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep Plus access until then.
  • Failed payments: if a renewal payment fails, Stripe may retry it. If it still cannot be collected, your Plus access may end.

Refunds: [REFUND POLICY]. This does not affect your statutory rights, including the right of withdrawal below.

6. Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you generally have the right to withdraw from a subscription contract within 14 days of concluding it, without giving any reason. To withdraw, send us a clear statement (for example by email to [CONTACT EMAIL]) before the 14 days have passed.

If you withdraw, we will refund payments received from you within 14 days, using the same payment method. If you asked us to start providing Plus during the withdrawal period, you must pay a proportionate amount for the service already provided up to the time you withdraw.

7. Virtual items

NoorOn uses virtual items such as XP, gems, hearts, streaks and levels to make learning fun. You earn them by learning, for example by completing lessons, or receive them as rewards, for example when a friend joins with your invite code. Gems can be spent in the app, for example to refill hearts.

Virtual items are not money and have no cash value. They cannot be sold, transferred, exchanged for money or paid out, and they are not your property. They exist only inside NoorOn.

We may change how virtual items are earned, spent or displayed, for example to balance the game. We may remove virtual items gained through bugs, cheating or abuse. Virtual items end when your account is closed.

8. Acceptable use

Please use NoorOn fairly and respectfully. You must not:

  • use offensive, hateful, illegal or misleading names or profile pictures, or pretend to be someone else;
  • cheat or manipulate XP, gems, streaks, leaderboards or referral rewards, for example with scripts, bots or fake accounts;
  • attack, overload, reverse-engineer or bypass the security or access controls of the service, or access it by automated means except through interfaces we provide;
  • copy, resell or republish our learning content without permission;
  • use NoorOn in a way that breaks the law or the rights of others.

9. Your content

You may choose a built-in avatar or upload your own profile picture, and you choose your display name. You remain the owner of what you upload.

You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, resize and display your profile picture and display name within NoorOn, for as long as they are part of your account. It ends when you remove them or your account is deleted.

Only upload pictures you have the right to use, and that do not show other people without their consent. We may remove content that breaks these Terms.

10. Intellectual property

NoorOn, including its learning content, questions, illustrations, mascots, logo, design and software, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights belonging to us or our licensors.

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use NoorOn for your own non-commercial learning, as long as you follow these Terms. We do not give you any other rights.

11. Suspension and termination

You can stop using NoorOn at any time. To have your account deleted, contact us at support@nooron.app. If you have a paid subscription, please cancel it in the billing portal as well, so that it does not renew.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, or if the law requires it. Where reasonable we will warn you first and tell you why. If we close your account without cause, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid subscription.

We may also end the service as a whole with reasonable prior notice; you will then receive a pro-rata refund for any prepaid period not yet used.

12. Disclaimers

We work hard to keep our learning content accurate, but it is provided for general learning purposes. It is not a replacement for guidance from qualified scholars, teachers or other professionals.

We aim to keep NoorOn available and working, but we cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, updates or events outside our control may cause interruptions. Your statutory rights in respect of defects in digital products remain unaffected.

13. Limitation of liability

We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under a guarantee we have given, and where liability cannot be limited by mandatory law (for example product liability).

For slight negligence we are only liable if we breach an essential contractual obligation, meaning an obligation that makes proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on which you may regularly rely. In that case our liability is limited to the typical damage that was foreseeable when the contract was concluded.

Otherwise our liability is excluded to the extent permitted by applicable law.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by [GOVERNING LAW]. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of mandatory consumer law of the country where you normally live.

Place of jurisdiction: [PLACE OF JURISDICTION], to the extent permitted by law.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. We will tell you about significant changes at least [NOTICE PERIOD] before they take effect, in the app or by email.

If you do not agree with the changes, you can cancel your subscription and stop using NoorOn before they take effect. The date at the top shows when these Terms were last updated.
